Howl is a fictional drink brand I created to explore brand identity, packaging design, and to create something that felt like it had existed for 40 years.
I wanted the cans to look like something that you’d find in a desert dive bars or a middle of nowhere gas station. Each can is a nod to Americana, echoing days of old. Think pickup trucks, cowboys, old beer labels, and hand painted roadside billboards fading under the sun.
Then I ordered labels and installed them by hand onto physical cans. Next came photographing. And then a mock ad campaign that had slogans that felt like they were pulled off of those old hand painted roadside billboards.
